Good day folks! Here it is May! and I'm going back to work...I've even been praying for the 'piggy' flu to shut down Dallas schools! Anyway I'm going to take over a Kinder class for a teacher that is having a baby Wednesday. I'll be in your old room Valerie! Can you believe it...and yes everything still has Curtis written on it. You are right, if it wasn't for me and you, that Kindergarten group wouldn't have anything! I'll be trying to keep this blog up with all the fun things that I do in kindergarten for the next 22 days!

Here it is Easter weekend! Things are moving really fast. I can't believe it's been a month since Dad went to be with Jesus(as Katy says). Mother has tried to do some of the mountain of paperwork each day. This week we met with a lawyer to draw up Mother a new will.
Last weekend, I spent it with the Townsends of Lubbock! And I'll proudly say, Katy is potty trained!!!! I had to buy her the ballet shoes cause she pooped in the potty!!! (The things grandmas have to do!) We celebrated Katy's birthday at the Jumping Jungle. There was even a real Barbie princess that showed up. It took Katy a while to warm up to her, I don't think she could believe her eyes!
I'm enjoying my last few free days of sleeping late, I know I'm retired, but I told a girl at Hall that I would take her kinder class when she had her baby...I thought it would be just the last few weeks. Now I think it will be the last 6 weeks!!! but just think of all the money I'll be making!!!! sweet! I think Monday, I'll grab Mother and go see the Bluebonnets!

The first day of spring. The beginning of all new things. Nanny and I are trying to do all the paperwork that Pop didn't get around too. This is a new adventure for us. And we stop sometimes and just shake our heads. We can hear Pop saying, 'you crazy women'.
I'm proud of my mom, she is moving on with her life. She misses Pop and even drops a tear or more. It is hard to learn how to NOT depend on someone to be there for you after 60 years. But we depend on God to become our 'husbands' and to help show us the right path to take.
I told her today, I'm in my 'bubba' mode! And we took care of some stuff that the guys in our family should have done already!!! Next, we take on Pop's truck!!!! We can drive it! and use it!
Go, you Crazy women, Go!!!

Missing my Dad
A lot has changed since I've been on here last. My Dad passed away on March 4. He had been in 2 hospitals and 1 nursing home in less than 2 weeks. He was worn out and so were we. He is a peace now and doesn't hurt any more.
Mom and I are doing really well. I still can't believe he is not here to answer my questions on taxes, or my car. But I have to remember all that he taught me, and make him proud!
In the words of Katy, my 3 year old grandbaby, Pop is in heaven with Jesus!

Katy and Kathy and Jon came for a visit! I know it's a long hard drive and we love seeing them. Maybe Jon should take flying lessons! They came to visit with Pop. I think they need to see for themselves how he was doing.
Here's my Miss Katy telling me her name! I hope you enjoy this! I'm truely a Grammie~

Here it is Feb. 15!!! Oh my, where does time go. I'm still subbing at Hall Elem. and there are days when I say...I remember now why I retired! Pop is holding his own. He has good days and then bad days. So far, I have been off and able to help out. They have had the EMTs out twice now. Once Pop fell outside....and the other was during the night. Pop's sugar levels dropped to 26. That is just this side of coma state. If Mother had not woke up, Pop would have died. I was on the phone the whole time with Mother while the EMT were there. The whole time I'm thinking how fast can I get dress and get there. But once the EMTs have Pop's levels back up, he was ok. It's a God thing!
I've visited with my buddy, Valerie while she was down here with her sister and mom...it's amazing how we both were involved with 'sick' family members at the same time. We would call each other and compare stories and cry! We are life long friends!!!! I really miss her!
I'm enjoying watching my granddaughter grow up before my eyes! I can't belive she is going to be three! I'm headed out to the birthday party!!!! I'll show you pictures later!
